The McMaster Forest
About five kilometres southwest of campus lies fifty hectares of mixed forest, wetland, and grassland. McMaster has owned the former potato farm at the intersection of Wilson St. and Lower Lions Club Rd since the 1960s, but it has been used only occasionally for recreation since then. There are beautiful old growth forests tucked away behind new forest and meadows. It is a living example of nature reclaiming land once used by humans.
The proximity to campus, combined with the incredible diversity of animal and plant species thriving on the property, make the McMaster Forest an ideal research facility.
